News from April

Beechtree had a busy and fun April. We’ve had some great afternoons with live music like Celtic View, Aidan Flynn, Peter & Niamh, Billy McGee, Martin Carrick, Brian Carey and for the first time The Divil and the Damsal played for us. All were great fun and brought lots of dancing to Beechtree.

Our trusty Minibus brought us on a couple of road trips this month. A very memorable afternoon was spent in the Guinness Storehouse where the visitors had a chance to pull a pint or two and sample the produce! Another fun afternoon we spent up in Funtasia in Bettystown bowling, the competitive side came out for sure as Beechtree bowled to see who was the ultimate champion.

Our monthly visit from Wooly Wards Farm brought much happiness again, small animals and some not so small arrived at Beechtree where Residents had one to one contact with them.

We were delighted to wish our neighbours Keoghs Farm much success with their new venture with Emirates. We all had a sample here of the different flavour of crisps and we all concurred they were ‘First class crisps’.

We have had some mixed weather in April but thankfully some sunshine was thrown in among the showers. Saturday 21st was the hottest day of the year so far and Beechtree set up Lawn Bowls to be enjoyed by the residents.

Our 2 new hens, Betty and Wilma have settled in well and continue to keep us all entertained with their antics, thanks to Hen Friends

We were delighted to host Peata Dog Therapy visit at the end of April. Monty their dog engaged wonderfully with all of us here and we thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

All at Beechtree are looking forward to seeing what May has in store
