The sun continued to shine for us in July & August and here in  Beechtree we had a busy summer.

With the beautiful long days, we had a few visits from Ray’s ice-cream van, bringing delicious ice cream to everyone.

There were many birthdays to celebrate and we took a few trips to the Oldtown house and O Connors in Ballyboughal for some cool refreshments. A special thanks to Niamh & Maddie for arranging this.

We were delighted to welcome back Lenny The Dementia Friendly Barber who looked after our gents in Beechtree leaving them looking very dapper indeed!

We continued our very popular visits from Wooly Wards Farm whose furry friends bring lots of joy and happiness to our residents interacting with the small (and some not so small!)  cute animals.

Our Legion of Mary volunteers spend time at Beechtree and our residents enjoy this very special time.  And as always thanks to Father Fagan who visits every week to say mass and prayers.

We had some great outings over the summer taking in the Butlers chocolate experience, The Fleadh Ceoil in Drogheda, Visiting St Oliver Plunkett’s church, walks on the beach and afternoons in Ardgillan Park. We are lucky to have such wonderful places on our doorstep. lets see where the Beechtree mini bus takes us in September.

Siel Blue continue to come into us every Thursday morning helping keep our residents active with gentle exercise.

Late in August we had a traditional Slovak dance and singing group visit us Fs Ostroha.  They put on a great show for all the residents, thanks to Lucia for organising this.

We had lots of music during July & August, Aidan Flynn, Pat on Keyboards, Martin on accordion, Brian Carey, Lillian O Connor, Martin Dennis and Billy McGee to name but some and we also had the string quartet return to us.  The summer saw lots of singing, dancing and laughter.

Beechtree are big Dublin GAA supporters and we were delighted to be following their continued success during the summer.

Looking forward to what September has to bring
